Thylacine Anatomy Poster

At the time of illustrating this it appeared that no thylacine (Tasmanian tiger) superficial musculature diagrams had been made available for students or artists, so I made it my task to create this much-needed resource. The curators of the International Thylacine Specimen Database were very kind to review and approve my preliminary sketch to ensure all the muscles were correctly placed and labelled. I learnt so much from this project and really enjoyed researching this fascinating animal.

This was created with a big mix of mediums. The skulls were drawn with graphite pencil, the top-left portrait was rendered with gouache and pencil, while the main anatomical drawings were illustrated digitally with a Bosto tablet in Paint Tool SAI and Photoshop (working over traditional media sketches).

The layout was designed specifically for poster printing and is perfect for the classroom or studio wall. It's currently available at my Redbubble store.
